Children at Shaws enjoy sports and outdoor play daily. Children from Nursery One to Kindergarten Two enjoy an additional sports session in the mornings run by Shaws Little League (SLL).
The SLL coaches come down to the schools every week and hone in on the children’s sporting skill and ability.
Singapore’s longest running multi-sport and physical activity programme for young children.
At Shaws, we introduce phonics to the children in a fun and adventurous way with the help of LetterLand. In Nursery One, we also introduce our Reading Programme to the children.
Aside from reading, there is a lot of activities to build on creative writing, from Nursery through drawings and children story-telling, all the way up to Kindergarten, when the children are ready write their own little books.
The aim of our Maths programmes is to set the foundations for the children’s learning.
We want the children to explore and understand for themselves why and how Mathematical concepts work. Thus, all our lessons are very hands on, allowing the children to work things out for themselves and fully understand basic Maths concepts. This also forms the foundation for Primary school Maths.
At Shaws, we run a bilingual curriculum. The children are exposed to Mandarin from the Pre-Nursery class.
Our aim is to develop a love for the language through songs, stories and Chinese culture. And from this, we focus on extending the children’s vocabulary. The children going on to the local schools will be prepared for Chinese in Primary One.
Shaws Preschools was one of the first play and activity based preschools in Singapore and is one of the longest running preschools in Singapore.
Come and join us on March 22nd for a fun art activity at Lorong Chuan and learn why art is so important in the early years.
